The container terminal is a restricted area with controlled entry and exit gates. Only those persons authorized by TICT will be allowed inside this area. Persons allowed to enter the terminal will be issued with Vi sitor ID at the entry gate and the same ID will be returned at the exit gate on departure from the terminal. While inside the container terminal all persons must adhere to the established safety and security rules and regulations at all times.

Pedestrian access within TCT will be kept at a minimum and all vehicular movements will be along designated routes and at controlled speeds. All equipment of the vessel such as; ship cranes, derricks, radar scanners, gangways, etc., must be secured in a way that will not obstruct the operations. When vessel crew intend to operate the ship's radar, crane or derrick while vessel operation is on going, the vessel duty officer must give notice to TICT before operating the said equipment.

Should the vessel request bunkering, re-watering and/or any repair while alongside the container terminal TICT and TPGC must be informed prior to starting such activities. Appropriate work permits/clearances will need to be secured from TICT, TPGC and Harbor Master's office if necessary.
TICT reserves the right not to handle any dangerous cargoes loaded into defective containers or in inadequate packages, except upon permission from TPGC. Should TPGC approve handling of such cargo, the cargo must be discharged d irect to consignee's truck and fire fighting equipment manned with complete fire fighting crews must be placed on standby at the quay to re spond to any eventualities until the container is safely withdrawn from the terminal. On TICT's request to the Directorate of Civil Defense and Fire Department, TICT will bear the cost of engaging the services of fire brigade.

Visitors going onboard the ship will not be allowed onboard unless authorized by the Vessel Captain, the Ship ping Line, TICT, and if necessary from Harbor Master and Immigration . The Shipping Line agent requesting to allow visitors on board the ship must prepare a written request duly endorsed by the Vessel Captain before submitting the request to TICT Terminal Manager's office for final approval. Visitors entering the terminal will be issued with Visitor ID, which will be returned while leaving the terminal.

Transport trucks delivering or picking up containers or cargoes to and from the terminal must be in roadworthy condition at all times. Transport truck drivers must observe the speed limit inside the terminal, the truck routings, and other safety and traffic rules and regulations at all times.
Upon completion of the vessel operations, TICT requires th e vessel officer to endorse a certificate confirming that lashings on all containers loaded on board the vessel in Tartous Port have been carried out in accordance with the lashing plan and to the satisfaction of the ship.
