About TICT
|
In November 2006, ICTSI entered into a 10 year Investment Agreement, with the Tartous Port General Co. to operate the Tartous Container Terminal in Syria with an option to extend it for five additional years. A wholly owned Syrian registered company, Tartous International Container Terminal jsc (TICT) was set up to conduct and manage the Agreement on behalf of ICTSI.
Located at the middle of the eastern coast of the Mediterranean. Tartous enjoys a strategic advantage in the Middle East. It is the second largest container port in Syria, and closest to Damascus, the Syrian capital. It is situated near national production centers and oil terminals, in addition to being directly linked to the 2,342-kilometer railways network leading to all Syrian districts and neighboring countries.
Aside from serving as an entry point to the capital, the terminal is ideally located to serve southern European, northern African and Middle East trade. Tartous is also the port of choice for Iraq trade from Europe and the Americas.
